Mantle of the Expert Winter School 2018 with Tim Taylor (UK) and Viv Aitken (NZ)

Two days of professional development, networking and support for experienced Mantle of the Expert practitioners and school leaders, including:

  • Advanced planning tools
  • Drama for learning and theatrical elements including exploring Dorothy Heathcote’s list of conventions
  • Use of questioning and teacher register
  • Advice on supporting Mantle of the Expert across and between schools.

Dr Viv Aitken
Dr Viv Aitken is a research associate with the University of Waikato and a consultant with the Institute of Professional Learning. Viv has been researching and teaching courses in Mantle of the Expert at undergraduate and Masters level since 2009. In her current role as Ministry accredited Facilitator, she offers PLD to teachers and schools around NZ. Viv is convenor of and co-author of ‘Connecting Curriculum, Linking Learning.’
Tim Taylor
Tim Taylor has had 20 years’ experience teaching and offering support to teachers in Mantle of the Expert. He works in the UK and has run courses on MoE in India, Palestine, Spain, France, USA and elsewhere. He is the convenor of and author of ‘A Beginners Guide to Mantle of the Expert’. Tim presented at the first international Mantle of the Expert conference in Hamilton in 2009 and is delighted to be back in New Zealand.
